I’m giving a paper on “Liveness” at a Music Technology conference at UC Berkeley, April 25, 2014

I will be presenting a paper “On Liveness and Labor in the Era of Hologram Singers” at Bone Flute to Auto-Tune: A Conference on Music Technologies in History, Theory, and Practice. The conference is held on April 24-6, 2014 at UC Berkeley.

Remember Tupac Shakur at Coachella 2012? My paper is about the Live performances of Japanese pop star Hatsune Miku, which are, like the Shakur stunt, not quite Live and not quite performances.
